Now this is not right! I am paying for snow not rain!
So this was a mixed skiing day. Kenneth says I look more confident than I did last year. I feel... well, I feel mixed: on my first run I felt rather lousy; my second run made me feel I was actually improving and looking half way decent; then there was a mix depending on how much ice I encountered. I really don't do well on crunchy stuff. I like smooth and fluffy surfaces. Yes, I have mastered the ski lingo also: 'crunch stuff', 'fluffy surface'. Anyway, my skiing leaves a lot to desire but I braved the rain and a wet jacket. I suffered through pain in my Achilles tendon where the boot was cutting into. And still I followed Kenny on trails that I would have never ventured to on my own. I would have just stayed on the ones I know well, ones that don't throw any surprises at me and tolerate my lack of grace. Now I do love the skis I got, K2 lotta luv. They are very, very obedient. The only thing that totally bugs me about them is their looks. Yes, I am that shallow. Jan says they look like cows. So tomorrow I will be trying something else on, K2 burning luv, if the demo shop has them that is. Now those look HOT. But honestly, I have read reviews and it seems that both are excellent skis worth trying. I think I am getting ready to invest in a pair of skis. Rentals add up pretty quickly and I think I have found what I like. I just would like to see if the prettier ones would not suit me better. Oh, did I mention that they are also a little bit cheaper?
