I have an explanation for why my run yesterday felt so sluggish. COLD. My son had a bug and he happily shared it with me. So my throat is on fire and my nostrils totally plugged up. Still we decided to go on a planned trail run but cut it short. The day started with a thick fog which puts me in contemplative mood. And I would have a nice run filled with thoughts about the world, universe and everything except that my brain was lacking oxygen. I could not breathe. Who took the oxygen away? My science loving kid said that it must be that oxygen combined with hydrogen hence the fog. Of course that did not explain why he could run and breathe easily while I was wheezing all the time. I think he took my oxygen...
Joking aside, that was an amazing run despite my cold. The fog was filling some valleys and ignored others. One minute we were in the middle of it, the next above. We kept on marveling at this beauty and I kept thinking of my brother in law wondering if he will start taking care of himself enough so he can spend some time in Nature. Even with part of his foot missing he would be able to walk but only if he loses most of his weight. I hope he does. And then I thought how lucky I was to be able to get my food addiction under control.
