My previous post about night encounters did not mention other friends I make on my trails and in daylight too. Strangely enough I have no pictures of squirrels and we have thousands of them here. Bobcats don't want to pose, mountain lions don't even want to show their ears though I am sure they know I am around, and the rattle snake picture I had vanished somewhere in my vast library.

| If you ever get a chance to listen to how they munch on grass, stop an listen. It is a neat sound. |
There is an infestation of wild turkeys in our area. Not that long ago there were none.
Now they are everywhere. Thanksgiving dinners walking on every trail I've been on. |
Just one representative of all the insects I meet. This one I like.
Can't say the same about wasps though - I am not Dalai Lama. What does he do when a mosquito bites him? |
| I wonder if she knew that I several times I saw a bobcat on that very trail she was pecking. |
At first he (?) did not want to be photographed at all but finally stopped for a second and
smiled to the camera. |
| I think they were hoping I would give them some food. |
| True, they were not really on the trail but then I don't run on water. |
| These shy away from people too. |
| Watch out for these fellows. They will chew on the hoses under your car. I am not kidding. |
| I love these guys. One of the very few predators we have not exterminated yet. |
There are so numerous in our area one almost does not pay attention to them.
They are still awfully cute. |
Are you meeting many friends on your runs?
